Jist with Jola is a Podcast station located in Duluth Georgia. They discuss controversial and hot topics, conduct interviews, try different food and other activities. Their target audience is mainly Gen Z, Millennials and women.
Their objectives is to pop and be conservatively decorative. Some of their audience only listen, so the logo carries the bulk of their image. They want to create a cozy environment for their listeners and this must be illustrated through their cover.
The illustration was chosen because the hierarchy and composition is strong and it can also stand alone in space.
I used Modern No. 20 for the majority of the type because of the exaggerated serifs, they are thin. I pushed that further by extending the serifs for the " J " and thickening the terminals on the end of it. Berlin Sans FB was only used for the “a” because I wanted a simpler more traditional a, and it corresponds better with the teapot handle.
