Burlot is an E-Commerce company located in Atlanta Georgia. They carry a range of products for businesses, households and education needs. Their target audience are online shoppers, not necessarily tech savvy individuals but those who cannot easily leave home.
Their objectives are to be simplistic and straight forward while still standing out. They have alot of competition online but they seek to build a reputable relationship through their platform. At a glance, it should be clear what it is they do.
Though similar, both logos are subtly different in typeface. The client liked them both as well, so the one on the right was chosen by me because it was a good combination of typeface and illustration. The serifs on the left design seemed too aggressive for a company based around shopping
The type used is Rockwell and Arial Rounded MT Bold kept Rockwell for the cart illustration because the sharpness of the serif illustrated a shopping cart better and and round arial because it gives a break from the sharper edges and creates more balance. I also made the sharp corners of the Arial font curvier than the original for cohesiveness across the design.
The Green was chosen in reference to money and savings along with a saving the planet, online shopping means less carbon emissions. They yellow is also a sample from colors of nature.
